Employment - Transitional
Transitional Employment is a partnership between Liberty Centre and local businesses. Liberty Centre manages positions which are entry level and typically have a high turnover rate in the employer’s place of business. Liberty Centre is responsible for selecting a member of the Clubhouse to fill the position. Training the member and the coverage of that position is managed by Liberty Centre. Once a member has worked the position for six to nine months another member is trained to work the position. The placement manager will stay with the new member and train them until they learn the position. This ensures that the employer does not see any change in the quality of work. This gives many members an opportunity to gain valuable work experience. The members are paid directly by the employer and work as peers with co-workers.
Transitional Employment is mutually beneficial to the employer and to the member of Liberty Centre. The member gains work experience, references for future job applications and additional income. The employer gets a guarantee from Liberty Centre that the job will be completed each day and that all training will be provided by the placement manager. The community receives a productive citizen contributing to the betterment of their community.
Employment may be the single most critical factor in individuals rebuilding and reclaiming their lives.
