2008 Relay for Life

Liberty Centre members and staff and family members participated in this great community event. It was a fun evening and our team raised $2000 to help fight cancer in northeast Nebraska!!!

A Visit From Leadership Nebraska Students

 

The Leadership Nebraska Class was held in Norfolk, September 13th. The Class spent the day learning about different aspects of  the health care system. Liberty Centre hosted the Class in the afternoon. After providing a personal tour, staff and members of Liberty Centre met with the Class to answer any questions they may have had.  This was a great experience for everyone involved.

2007 Relay for Life Team

Liberty Centre Services, Inc. had a great time participating in the community effort to raise funds to be used in the treatment of cancer. Team members raised over $1600.00 making them a Bronze Team. Our team was comprised of staff and members and family members

Liberty Centre's Employer Banquet

April 3rd 2007

Frank Lloyd, assistant commissioner of education for the Nebraska Department of Education addressed a dinner hosted by Liberty Centre on April third. The invited guest included co-workers, members and employers that partner with Liberty Centre to expand employment opportunities in the Norfolk community, for individuals with mental illness. There was numerous employers exploring the opportunity to become involve that also attended.

Bruce Price, President of Marathon Press along with his family, Patty Skokan and Pam Miner from Liberty Centre, and J.Paul McIntosh, from Liberty Centre's Board of Directors are pictured above with Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, Senator Ben Nelson and Senator Chuck Hagel.

 

Marathon Press was one of 42 employers honored on Capitol Hill by their federal legislators for playing a national role in recommending that their colleagues explore hiring individuals who have mental illness. Marathon has partners with Liberty Centre in transitional and supported employment opportunities.
