Liberty Centre Services (LCS) is an international, dually accredited organization. Liberty Centre has been a part of the Norfolk community for over 30 years, serving individuals age 19 and older recovering from mental illness. This organization is more than a rehabilitation program. Recovery is a reality not a distant dream. In an environment filled with hope, each individual's strengths are identified and built upon.
In an environment filled with hope, each individual's strengths are identified and built upon. It is through the cultivation on those strengths that the person's weaknesses simultaneously become less apparent. This process occurs very naturally with peer support playing a key role. The skills and confidence gained through this experience significantly changes the future of people's lives.
Liberty Centre Services has built strong partnerships within the Norfolk community as well as with state and national leaders. Liberty Centre is involved as an educational partner with Northeast Community College, UN-L College of Nursing, Norfolk Public Schools, and Wayne State College. Some of the organizations we are involved in are: Habitat for Humanity, Parent to Parent Network, Rotary, Kiwanis, Region 4 Behavioral Health Advisory Committee, Northeast Nebraska Philanthropy Council, Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Norfolk, Legislative Council, Small Business Council, Northeast Nebraska Area Human Resource Council, Chamber Ambassador's, The State of Nebraska's Mental Health Advisory Committee and Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations. Community leaders, along with members of Liberty Centre, serve on our Board of Directors. This board is visionary in the planning, development and enhancement of services provided by our organization.
Liberty Centre continues to be involved in the development of certified clubhouses; increasing opportunities for individuals with mental illness locally as well as across the United States.
